2024-09-30  Caravan Stolen

Police are appealing for information after a caravan was stolen from a property off the A63 between the village of Hambleton and Monk Fryston. The white Elegance Grade, Model 835 caravan was taken at around 9pm on Monday 23rd September. If you have any dashcam footage or have any information that could help with this investigation, please call North Yorkshire police on 101. 

2024-08-27  Grassroots Camps

The Leeds United summer camp is at Monk Fryston United JFC, Stocking Lane for 2 days on 29th and 30th August for children aged 5 to 12. The cost is ?25 a day. Contact skill.centre@ leedsunited.com for more information. 

2024-07-10  Beer Festival

Monk Fryston and Hillam Beer Festival is on 13th and 14th September. Friday night is adults only and Saturday is family fun day with music, kids? entertainment, food and drinks. 

2024-07-01  Grass Cutting Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to cut the grass at St Wilfred?s Monk Fryston. It should take 20 minutes every fortnight. Call Fr Peter Roberts on 01977 345732 if you can help. 

2024-06-20  Beer Festival

This year?s Monk Fryston and Hillam Beer Festival will take place on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th of September. This is the 10th beer festival. 

2024-05-21  Copper Cable Theft

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about the theft of copper cable in the Monk Fryston area. It happened between 6pm on Friday and 6am on Monday (10-13 May 2024) at KE Lunness Aggregates Ltd on Brotherton Road. A cabin at the premises was also damaged and the estimated cost to the business is ?20,000. If you have any information call 101, select option 2 and ask for Bill Davies. 2024-04-05  Grassroots Camp

There will be a Leeds United Grassroots Football Camp at Monk Fryston United, Stocking Lane on 29th and 30th August from 9am to 3pm. It is for children aged 5 to 12 years and costs ?25 per day. 

2024-03-25  Post Office Closure

Following the armed raid on Monk Fryston Post Office on 19th February the couple who run the business, Karen and Adrian Bullock, have decided to close the post office counter on safety grounds. They will run the village stores as usual, but the post office will shut on Friday 7th June. 

2024-03-12  Man Arrested

Police say they have arrested a man in his 40s in Hertfordshire in connection with a robbery at a post office in Monk Fryston near Selby at about 4.40pm on Monday, 19th February. 

2024-03-10  Community Meeting

Following the recent robbery at Monk Fryston Post Office, the local safer neighbourhood team will be holding a community meeting at Monk Fryston and Hillam Community Centre on Old Vicarage Lane in Monk Fryston. The meeting will take place on Friday 22nd March from 7.00 to 8pm.
