2026-02-26 Information Event |
There is a drop in at Micklefield Youth and Adult Centre on Thursday 26th February from 4pm to 7pm to find out about the road closure and bridgework on the Ridge Road. Representatives of the Transpennine Route Upgrade will be on hand to answer your questions. |

2026-02-24 Road Closure |
The Ridge Road will close from Monday 2nd March until Friday 4th December while the railway bridge is amended to accommodate electrification of the line. Diversions will be in place. |

2026-02-03 Train Services Blocked |
Network Rail said emergency services "safely dealt with" an incident in the Church Fenton area on Saturday afternoon. The incident blocked all lines between York and Leeds on Saturday morning. |

2026-01-29 Longterm Road Closure |
From 2nd March till 4th December a section of the Ridge Road over the railway bridge will be closed to traffic whilst the bridge is replaced to accommodate overhead cables on the rail track. Vehicles will be diverted via the A63 and A642 and the diversion will be clearly signposted. |

2025-12-20 Train Disruption |
From Monday 29th December at 11.30am to Sunday 25th January there will be no train service between Micklefield and York. Leeds to York train services will terminate at Micklefield and passengers can continue their journey on an hourly replacement bus service. |

There will be Community Carol Singing at the Fire Station on Wednesday 17th and at Churchville House on 18th December at 5.45pm. All welcome. |

There will be Carols by Candlelight at St Mary the Virgin, Micklefield on Sunday 14th December at 5pm. With mince pies afterwards. |

It is Open Mic Night at the Arabian Horse every first Sunday of the month from 5pm to 8pm. Come along and give it a go. |

The Tuesday Morning Coffee Morning/Warm Space at Churchville House is closed for the festive period and will reopen 6th January 2026. |

2025-11-27 Christmas Eve Children?s Service |
There will be a Children?s Service at St Mary?s Micklefield on 24th December at 4pm. Children are invited to turn up dressed as Nativity characters, even animals from the stable. Or just turn up in your Christmas jumper. |
