2017-08-04 Better Station for Micklefield
Micklefield railway station is one of three stations being given a revamp as part of Northern’s Better Stations programme. Work starts in August to provide facilities such as waiting shelters, improved waiting rooms, customer information, ticket machines and CCTV.

There is an Activity Day on Micklefield Recreation Ground at thew back of the Fire Station on Thursday 10th August from noon to 3pm. There will be inflatables and art equipment. The event is organised by Leeds City Council Youth Services.

There will be a Cream Tea held at Churchville House on Sunday 23rd July from 2.30 to 5pm. The cost is £2 and all proceeds go to the Macmillan charity

This year’s Micky Field Fest takes place on Sunday 27th August from 1pm till late in the field next to the Blands Arms. There will be face painting, a bucking bronco, a barbecue, refreshments and much more
2017-07-01 Rail Crossing Survey
This weekend contractors will be carrying out a user survey at the pedestrian crossing near Pit Lane, Micklefield to understand the usage of the crossing. The survey is part of the preparation for upgrading the Transpennine railway. All crossings across the route are being assessed as part of the development of the Transpennine Route Upgrade programme
2017-06-19 Micklefield Gala
Micklefield Gala takes place on 1st July from noon at Churchville House. There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, stalls, games, refreshments and a barbecue. Everybody welcome.
2017-06-07 Possible Sighting of Missing Micklefield Woman
Police investigating the disappearance of a Ukrainian woman from her home in Leeds are appealing to people in Doncaster following a possible sighting. Svitlana Krasnoselska, aged 40, was last seen at her home in Micklefield at about 5am on Monday, April 3. She is originally from Ukraine and has British citizenship, and is known to friends as Lana. Officers have now been contacted by a woman in Doncaster who has reported seeing someone she believed to be Lana. Police have been conducting extensive enquiries in that area, including checks of CCTV, but have so far been unable to confirm it is her.
