2025-11-27 Christmas Eve Children?s Service |
There will be a Children?s Service at St Mary?s Micklefield on 24th December at 4pm. Children are invited to turn up dressed as Nativity characters, even animals from the stable. Or just turn up in your Christmas jumper. |

2025-11-11 Fruit Picker Accommodation Extension |
Makins in Micklefield wants to continue using 84 static caravans at its Sturton Grange strawberry farm near Garforth. The company was first granted time-limited permission in 2009 to house mainly European fruit pickers who arrive in the UK under the Seasonal Worker visa scheme. The plans for the soft fruit farm to house up to 325 seasonal workers will go before a panel of councillors. If granted, a current planning application would allow use of the caravans for another six years at the Ridge Road farm. |

Micklefield primary Academy is holding a series of open days for people to look around the school, particularly those interested in the Reception and Early Years classes for 2026/27. The events take place on Monday 10th November qt 1.30pm, Wednesday 12th November at 9.30am and on Monday 17th November at 4pm. Micklefield Recreation Ground New Toddler Playground Official Opening took place on Saturday 30th August. Local MP, Keir Mather and two of the local ward councillors, James Lewis, leader of Leeds City Council, and Mary Harland attended. |

St Mary?s Micklefield is holding a Teddy Bears? Picnic on Sunday 17th August from 11.15am (after the service). Funds raised will go to Leeds Congenital Heart Unit at the Children?s Hospital. |

Leeds Youth Service is holding a free activity day for young people in Micklefield on Wednesday, 6th August 6th from 12 pm to 3 pm at Micklefield Playing Fields. The event is weather dependent. It will feature a range of activities, including art and craft projects, educational games, sports, and opportunities for discussions and information sharing. |
