2017-12-15  Seasonal Drink Drive Clampdown

Police officers have been out in Kippax this week conducting checks on motorists as part of this yearís anti Drink and Drive campaign.

Police have issued an appeal for information after receiving reports about males shooting owls in the Billy Wood area of Kippax. Anyone with information should call wildlife crime officer Shaun Taylor on 101 

 

2017-12-11  Brigshaw Christmas Concert

The Brigshaw High School Christmas Concert takes place on Tuesday 12 December at 7pm. Tickets are £5 with concessions £4, available from reception. A mince pie and hot drink are included in the ticket price. 

 

2017-12-09  Kippax Kestrelís Community Crops

The 1st St Maryís Kestrel Scout Group, with help from Kippax in Bloom, is launching a community garden to grow fruit and vegetables for residents. The Co-operative has donated £4,396 to repair a surrounding wall 

 

2017-12-08  Car Crash in Kippax

Two men and a woman were trapped in a car when it crashed into a wall on Leeds Road Kippax on Wednesday. The fire brigade had to cut the three people from the wreckage 

 

2017-12-02  Dusk Walks

Nature lovers can explore two local nature reserves at dusk during guided walks this winter. St Aidans and Fairburn Ings will offer visitors the opportunity to explore the reserves as the light dims and darkness descends. The walks will last around 2 hours. The St Aidans walk will take place on Monday 11th December and the Fairburn Ings walk on Wednesday 13th December. Booking is essential.

Kippax based author Steve Ward is launching his new book about Temple Newsam today at Waterstones bookstore. The book is called Tales from the Big House: Temple Newsam and charts its history from the 12th century onwards.
