2017-10-17  Spooky Events at Kippax Library

The Community Hub at Kippax Library is holding a Halloween Crafts event on Monday 23rd October from 2pm to 3pm. Kids are encouraged to turn up in Halloween fancy dress. The event is suitable for under 16s and no booking is required. 

 

2017-10-09  Kippax Christmas Lights

The 28th annual Christmas Lights switch on in Kippax will take place on 23rd November, The organisers hope to have Danny Milo to compere the show along with Santa, JT from Cas Tigers, Bare Brass and a host of local talent; also the annual fireworks display  

 

2017-10-06  Big Macmillan Coffee Morning Success at Brigshaw

Pupils and staff at Brigshaw High School raised £367.56 for Macmillan Cancer Support at their Coffee and Cake Morning

Kippax and Methley Forum are meeting at Brigshaw High School on Wednesday 11th October at 6pm. It is open to residents from Kippax, Methley, Allerton Bywater, Micklefield, Mickletown, Ledston, Ledston Luck and Ledsham

Kippax in Bloom have been awarded Gold in the very competitive Urban Community category of Yorkshire in Bloom 2017. Garforth in Bloom were awarded a Silver Gilt in the Town category of the competition 

 

2017-09-25  Stargazing Sell-out

The Introduction to Stargazing event at St Aidanís at 7.30pm on 30th September is sold out. The evening of astronomy is organised by RSPB and Wakefield and District Astronomical Society 

 

2017-09-23  Ex-Clergyman Jailed

Former clergyman John Bishop, 76, from Kippax has been jauiled for 6 years after admitting sexually abusing underage girls. The ex-Church of England Minister pleaded guilty to 25 charges of indecent assault. The offences were committed between 1955 and 1982 

 

2017-09-14  New Skate Park Opens in Kippax

The Lord Mayor of Leeds will open a new £150,000 skate park in Kippax at 1pm this Saturday. The facility is located on Kippax Common playing fields and can be accessed from Green Lane and Green Avenue.  

 

2017-09-10  Help for the Growing Zone

Staff from the Leeds Building Society offices on Main Street Garforth have been using their volunteering leave to fix up old furniture at the Growing Zone in Kippax. The Growing Zone is an allotment garden project for adults and children with special needs. 

 

2017-09-07  Adventures in Digital Photography

Are you interested in digital photography and aged 13-17? If so come along to a new camera club that meets fortnightly at Kippax community Hub from 4pm to 5pm, starting 18th September. All equipment is provided and it is free. This is a 6 session programme funded by Outer East Community Committee. Booking is essential
