2024-04-14  Village Meeting

Kippax Annual Village Meeting takes place at Kippax Methodist Church on Thursday 25th April at 7pm. Doors open at 6.15pm 

2024-04-12  Shed Burglar Charged

A man has been arrested and charged over a series of shed and garage burglaries in the Kippax area at the weekend. Lewis Knight, aged 32, of no fixed address, appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Monday charged with four burglaries, three attempted burglaries, attempted theft from a motor vehicle, assault of an emergency worker and failing to provide a sample for a Class A drugs test. 

2024-04-11  Rare Birds Return

Black-necked Grebes are returning to RSPB St Aidan?s, which is home to 30 percent of the UK population. They are one of the rarest breeding birds in the country and the nature reserve is one of a handful of places where they nest regularly. 

2024-04-10  Kitchen Assistants Required

The Chequers Inn at Ledsham is currently recruiting for kitchen assistants. They have various hours available but potential candidates must be able to commit to between 15-40 hours per week. Hours and shifts are negotiable. Duties include pot washing, basic food prep and assisting the chefs with the day to day running of the kitchen. No experience is required. Full training will be given.

Kippax Dramatic Society are performing Murder Afloat at St Mary?s Church Hall, Kippax from Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th April at 7.30pm. Tickets are ?15 including supper. Entry by ticket only. Call 0113 2862834 for more details.

There is a Knit and Natter at Oliver?s Coffee Bar Kippax on Thursday 11th April from 2pm. 

2024-04-04  Spring Concert

Kippax Band?s Spring Concert takes place on Sunday 14th April at 7.30pm at the Band Club. Doors open at 6.30pm. Admission is ?5 or free to members. 

2024-04-03  Free Skateboarding Lessons

The is free skateboard coaching courtesy of Kippax Parish Council at Kippax Common Skatepark on Thursday 4th April from 1.30 to 3.30pm. There 15 sets of board and helmet so just turn up. 

2024-03-29  Local Precept Rates for 2024/25

The 2024/2025 precept for Kippax Parish Council will be ?44.16 for a band D property. The precept for Great and Little Preston will be ?48.12 and for Micklefield it will be ?86.23.

Kippax Parish Council has two vacancies. Residents interested in standing as a councillor should contact the clerk.
