2019-01-25   Proms 2019

Proms at the Pavilion is back in 2019. The event will take place on Saturday 13th July at Hillam and Monk Fryston Cricket Club. More details will be announced in due course 


2018-12-26   Hillam VETS System

Hillam Parish Council is setting up a Village Emergency Telephone System to support the use of the defibrillator - this is where local individuals volunteer to collect/deliver the defibrillator to the location it may be needed in the village. It is essential in defibrillation cases that the responder stays to deliver CPR and ensure oxygen is still pumping through the casualty's body instead of losing time collecting the defibrillator. 


2018-12-03   Hillam Houses Planning Meeting

The planning meeting to consider an application to build 33 houses on land West of Main Street, Hillam behind Hillcrest House will be on 5th December. 2018 at 2pm. A Selby Council Planning Committee Report recommends refusal of the application 


2018-11-14   Hillam Burglary Appeal

On Monday 12th November between 4pm and 6 pm a property in Chapel Street, Hillam was broken into and valuables stolen. The property owner would be grateful if anyone with CCTV in the vicinity can look to see if there are any indications of unusual movement of vehicles or pedestrians in the area at that time or earlier in the day. Anyone in either Hillam or Monk Fryston with information can contact the property owner on 07738886629 


2018-11-08   He’s a Champion

Harry Bramley from Hillam has won the Under 16s Yorkshire Amateur Golf Championship which took place at Knaresborough Golf Club 


2018-10-11   Berts Barrow Christmas Event

The Berts Barrow Christmas food and shopping event takes place on Saturday 10th November. There will be hampers available with 10% discount, and there will be opportunities for you to make your own hampers that can be stored at Berts barrow until the big day. 


2018-07-03   Proms at the Pavilion

For a totally amazing night of great music, food, drink and a massive firework display you can't beat Proms at the Pavilion at Hillam and Monk Fryston Cricket Club on Saturday 14th July, from 6pm to 11pm. The night has an amazing line up of musical talent including Bare Brass Band, Ellie May, the Dixon Sisters, Jess Taylor and a Rock Choir. York R I will top the show off with all your favourite Proms numbers as well as McArthur Park, Let Me Entertain You, Life on Mars, Mr Blue Sky, Happy and more! 


2018-07-02   Stonebridge Development in Hillam

Hillam Parish Council has received a set of plans for re-consultation prior to the August Selby Council Planning Meeting. Plans will be available at the Parish Council meeting on Wednesday 4th July, 7.30 at the Community Centre, Monk Fryston. They are also available on the Selby Council Planning Portal: Ref 1033/FUL Observations should reach Selby District Council by 5thJuly. The plans relate to the residential development of 33 dwellings on land to the west of Main Street 


2018-06-24   Fish Shop Burglary

Byram fish and chip shop has been broken into for the second time this year. A collection box for Brotherton Bulldogs was taken from behind the counter. A substantial reward is offered for any information regarding this incident.
