The switch on of this year?s Hillam Christmas Lights will take place from 5.30 to 7.30pm on Saturday 30th November in Hillam Village Square. Santa will be there. |

2024-08-19 Remembering the Fallen |
The 17th August, marks the 80th anniversary of the death of Trooper Bryan Clark, the only Hillam resident to fall during the Normandy campaign. He was only 21 years old. The Chair of Hillam Parish Council this week visited the grave of Trooper Clark in Tilly-sur-Seulles war cemetery and placed a wreath on behalf of the residents and councillors of Hillam Parish. |

2024-07-25 Heritage Open Day |
As part of Heritage England's Open Days, St Mary?s Church of Birkin and Beal will once again be opening their doors to showcase their wonderful 12th Century Norman church on Saturday 14th September from 10.30am to 3pm. There will be local family history societies on site for anyone researching the family tree. |

2024-07-03 Burglaries and Car Thefts |
In the early hours of the morning of 25th June two houses were broken into for car keys and a grey Skoda Octavia was stolen from Lilac Oval in Hillam, and a black Golf GTI was stolen from Greengage Link in Sherburn in Elmet. As part of their investigation into the two burglaries the police are appealing for any information, CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell camera footage, that may have captured something. |
