There will be a Children’s Halloween Party at Burton Salmon Village Hall from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday 23rd October. Tickets will be priced at £2.50 per child, including food and drink.
2021-08-02 Hire the Village Hall
Burton Salmon Village Hall is now taking bookings so if you are planning a party or running a group/ activity. Apart from the main hall there is a committee room, the kitchen is being refurbished soon and the toilets were done recently. There is on-site parking.
2021-06-02 Drink Driver Arrested
A man in his twenties was arrested after a crash in which a car ended up on its roof in a field. North Yorkshire Police arrested a man in his twenties on suspicion of drink driving following a collision on 16th May on the A162 near Burton Salmon, Selby. Nobody was seriously injured.
2021-04-08 Burton Salmon Cricket
The new season at Burton Salmon Cricket Club begins with a home fixture against West Bretton on 17th April. Anyone wishing to sponsor a match ball for £30 should call the Secretary on 01977 678066. The club are also looking for a new scorer. £20 per game will be paid plus as many refreshments as you need. Again contact the Secretary if interested.

Burton Salmon Cricket Club’s outdoor nets (unlimited numbers, socially distanced) begin on 29th March . Their first game is on 17th April
2020-10-26 Illegal Caravan Action Imminent
On Monday 19th October Selby Council commenced legal action through the courts regarding the illegal use of land to accommodate caravans on Hillam Lane, the road to Burton Salmon. The aim of this is to clear the site and return the land back to open Green Belt.
2020-09-17 Horse Box Theft
A black and silver horsebox has been stolen from a farm on Ledgate Lane in Burton Salmon. It is believed that the horsebox was towed away by a silver estate car. The theft happened at around 9.30pm. Anyone with any information should call 101 quoting reference 1220016266
2020-06-08 Drivers Urged to be Vigilant
Police officers say they have attended a number of incidents recently involving deer and other animals hit by vehicles and suffering greatly. On Saturday 29th May officers on patrol came across a deer injured at the side of the road at about 4.30am at Burton Salmon, near Selby. It had suffered broken legs. A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “It’s possible that wildlife has become used to quieter roads due to the coronavirus restrictions”.
